Neil joined QuestGates in 2024 and is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Liability Complex & Major Loss team.
He has over 20 years’ experience in the insurance profession and has led complex liability divisions of major loss adjusting practices since 2017, including most recently national leadership roles in Australia and the USA.
A dual qualified Chartered Loss Adjuster and Chartered Insurance Practitioner, Neil handles all aspects of complex loss matters but has particular expertise in Product Liability & Recall and Professional Indemnity claims, where complex policy coverage and liability issues require expert navigation.
Andrew Woodford

Andy started his insurance career in 1983 at NEM, before moving into Loss Adjusting in the early/mid-nineties.
Having started in the profession as a Senior Liability adjuster with a competitor, Andy was promoted to Branch Manager of their Liverpool office in 1997 and subsequently Northern Regional Operations Manager, looking after the day-to-day operations whilst also investigating and handling a wide range of complex liability claims.
Andy joined QuestGates in 2010 following the acquisition of Teceris from Capita. After working as a senior Liability Adjuster for several years, Andy now heads up our Corporate Claims Solutions team, with overall responsibility for our Bolton and Birmingham claims operations.
Lee Roberts
Head of Operations Manager – Motor TPA
Lee joined QuestGates in 2022 with the acquisition of C&S Associates, specialists in Motor PI, credit hire and fraud.
With over 30yrs professional experience, Lee is an experienced technical negotiator of RTA claims including large loss, fraud and serious injury claims handling.
In his role as Operations Manager of our Motor TPA team, Lee’s remit extends to include the provision of technical training and mentoring, people and process management, liaison with clients and supply chain partners to ensure the delivery of claims handling services that meet clients expectations, whilst also handling a small portfolio of the largest and most technical claims.
Robert Campbell
Director
Robert has over 30 years’ experience loss adjusting in motorsport, film, entertainment and contingency claims. He joined Adams Adjusters in 1993 and thereafter joined Crawford & Company in 1999, where he developed his expertise in entertainment related claims, including Motion Picture, Television, on-demand internet distributors, independent film producers, advertising wrap-up programs and various types of Contingency Claims, including UK & International Event Cancellation & Non-Appearance.
Robert adjusts a wide range of global claims for all motorsport, rally and classic car risks, including on-track, storage and transit. He also handles media professional indemnity claims and has extensive experience in public liability claims.
Victoria Malaktos
Senior Loss Adjuster
Victoria’s particular expertise lies within the Entertainment practice where she handles time element and property claims in the Film and TV industries for UK/European and US production entities.
She is an integral part of the Team’s claims offering in the Contingency and Non-Appearance areas where she handles sports, event and music industry losses.
Cathy Geens
Customer Services Manager
Cathy started her career at Britannic Insurance in the Claims Department, over 40 years ago. She started as a Trainee claims handler, she dealt with all manner of claims, Domestic, Commercial, Motor and injury claims.
She moved onto a complaints handling role at Crawford and Company and then run various Business Units for 10 years.
Started working at QuestGates in 2004 managing the complaints for all business areas on a day to day basis. Now she oversees all feedback received by the Company and liaise with the various Departments to improve the Customer Service they deliver. In addition she oversees the work of the Customer Services Team ensuring all Client processes are adhered to.
When not working, she is usually out walking my dogs, reading or trying out new recipes, along with the occasional holiday
Zach Dunkley

Zach is based in London and joined QuestGates in September 2021 from EPUL after almost 2 years in a claims adjuster role dealing with Commercial property claims. Prior to this he worked at Crawford & Company handling general property claims.

Our Head of Quality Assurance for Property, Tony, joined QuestGates in 2003 and has over 35 years’ experience in the insurance industry formerly with Brokers, Insurers and Loss Adjusters. With Divisional responsibility for Audit, Compliance and Training and key account management he, with his team, also has a prominent role in the development of our IT platform and delivery of system training together with acquisition planning and implementation.
Outside of work, Tony is a keen tennis player and avid cricket fan, having travelled around the world to watch the England team.
Tess Hayden

Tess has over 20 years’ experience in claims handling and management of Public Liability, Employers Liability and Motor claims. Tess commenced her career in insurance in a brokerage and, from there, moved into a Claims Handling role in IPB, working Local Authority claims from cradle to grave. Tess made the move to Liability Adjusting in 2013 and, in recent years, has progressed into a Team Management role. Tess has a keen interest in Sociology and has studied it in her part time. Study in this field has proved to be fundamental to her career as it has afforded Tess further skills to better her approach to work and to get the best out of relations with colleagues, clients and their customers alike. Tess likes the outdoors and in her spare time partakes in running and hiking activities.
Stuart Lansdown

Stuart joined QuestGates in 2013 from an international competitor where he held several senior operational management roles. His career in insurance began in 1989 with a major insurer, before moving into loss adjusting two years later, when Stuart took up a role as an adjuster handling first party property claims. He began to specialise in the Liability arena in the mid-90’s and has since developed expertise handling claims for third party personal injury, product liability and property damage.
After completing his Associateship exams, Stuart moved into management in the early noughties and has held several senior regional and national management positions, with both operational and business development responsibilities.
As Director of Third-Party Services at QuestGates, Stuart has responsibility for all aspects of performance of our Corporate Claims Solutions, Liability, Motor and TPPD teams, with focus on providing bespoke services that add real value and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Outside of work, Stuart is a music lover and keen skier who also enjoys long walks with his wife and family and the occasional round of golf.
Steven Sawyer

Steve started his career training to be a Solicitor, then moving into Insurance with Allianz over 10 years ago and onto loss adjusting to become a Chartered Loss Adjuster. He joined QuestGates in the summer of 2021 from another adjusting practice where he held a similar senior position dealing with major and complex loss claims. As part of our highly experienced complex team Steve will lead on any serious, complex and high-profile product liability/ recall, professional indemnity and property damage claims in the UK and Internationally. He is a technical referral point internally and is actively involved in business development and training with Insurer and Broker clients alike. Outside of work he is a keen gym goer and supporter of his local Luton Town FC.

Steven’s career started in claims at General Accident over 30 years ago. In 2000, he joined a Loss Adjuster working in the London market before returning to his native Scotland taking on a role managing field-based loss adjusting teams on a nationwide basis. Since joining QuestGates in 2019, he has worked in our Private Clients and Property Adjusting teams and is currently responsible for operational delivery across our Building Validation, Subsidence and Valuations products. Outside of work, he enjoys going to gym, gardening, and time with family.
Steve Holland
Head of Digital Technology and Security
Steve is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in delivering effective digital strategies. With over 25 years of experience, he has developed advanced knowledge in systems infrastructure and data security, particularly in the context of Microsoft technologies.
As the Head of Digital Technology and Security, Steve oversees the I.T. team responsible for developing and maintaining the QUBE applications, ensuring that they are aligned with business needs and meet the highest standards of data security. He is also responsible for evaluating all technology operations to ensure that they support the company’s technical expertise with market-leading technology.
With his extensive experience and expertise, Steve is well-equipped to lead the company’s digital technology and security efforts, ensuring that the organisation stays ahead of the curve in an increasingly complex and competitive marketplace. Outside of work he enjoys watching football and playing tennis.
Jon Toulson
Head of Liability Complex & Major Loss

Jon joined QuestGates at the start of 2021 from Sedgwick, where he held the position of Personal Injury Technical Director. With 35 years’ experience in the profession, Jon began his career with a major insurer, prior to working for solicitors in the City of London and the NHS Litigation Authority. His adjusting career began in 2006 since which time Jon has developed expertise in handling the most complex and sensitive claims including claims for abuse and sports related accidents, with a particular focus on investigations on behalf of motorsport governing bodies and clubs throughout England, Wales and the Isle of Man. Jon is also an Accredited Mediator. As Head of Liability Complex & Major Loss, Jon is responsible for the strategic direction and development of the Complex Loss team, whilst handling a small portfolio of the most complex and high-value claims. In his spare time Jon enjoys dog walking, cycling locally in the Derbyshire hills and dales and spectating at Derby County FC
Kris Locker

Kris joined QuestGates in 2021 as a Client Relationship Manager and has worked in the insurance industry for 19 years, the last 10 of these in Loss Adjusting as a relationship manager. Kris is responsible for managing key insurer and broker relationships across the UK. He is Cert CILA qualified and is focusing on working towards his Diploma. Kris is also the Social Secretary for The Insurance Institute of Norwich. In this spare time Kris enjoys going to the gym, cycling and days out with his partner walking their two dogs Alfie and Teddie.
Mark Purvis
Associate Director – Head of Liability Operations
Mark has spent 37 years working in Liability claims investigation, initially starting with Municipal Mutual Insurance in 1986 before moving into adjusting in 1992 with Macalisters, then GAB Robins and Woodgate & Clark, before joining QG in 2001. He became an Associate Director in 2005 and has run Operations for the Liability division for the last 6 years with a team of 13 adjusters directly reporting to me, albeit I still retain my own case load. My particular strengths concern injury and disease investigations within the North East of England engineering industry sector. Away from work I enjoy exploring the countryside and following various sports, including grass roots football.
Ross Macpherson
Director – Technical and Compliance

Ross started his career in claims at General Accident in the mid 1980’s. He moved into adjusting in 1989 and joined QuestGates in 2003. A chartered loss adjuster, Ross is a Full and Executive Board Director and his primary responsibilities across the business are running the Compliance Teams and looking after a number of our important client relationships, particularly those in the Lloyds and London Markets. Ross is also Chair of the CILA Claims Management Special Interest Group, as well as being part of Council and is the only loss adjuster sitting on BIBA’s Property Committee.
Outside of work Ross enjoys tennis, he is a Team Captain at his local club, football, golf and walks with his pet dog, Mabel.
Shaun Coyne
Consultant, Contingency and Entertainment

Shaun commenced his loss adjusting career after studying law and is now a common sight within the industry having spoken at many US and UK insurance and risk management conferences. Within Hyperion, Shaun specialises in claims within the contingency and non-appearance markets, working on claims for national and international Acts and UK, European and global promoters. He handles claims within the film industry for major US film studios and independently financed pictures. He also provides claims and risk management advice for global and national sporting events, national and international conference and exhibition organisers, and in addition handles losses for client and advertisers’ wrap-up programs.
Shaun’s handling of a very large contingency claim associated with the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020 resulted in QuestGates winning the Major Loss Award at the British Insurance Awards 2022.
Siobhan Bullock
Associate Director – Head of Responsible Business

Siobhan started her own kitchen manufacturing business at the age of 24, with the key roles of business development and managing the HR/Payroll function in-house. In 2004, having realised she especially enjoyed the people element of her role, and created a Payroll/HR consultancy business, assisting businesses implement and streamline processes, specialising in Acquisitions and Mergers, working alongside some prominent well-known businesses and Football clubs. Since joining QuestGates, ten years’ ago she introduced a variety of employee initiatives and benefits schemes, created a bespoke HR platform and is proactively involved with the companies Charity & Sustainability groups. Outside of work, she is an avid sports fanatic and enjoys travelling.
Robin Ehrlich

Robin has been at QuestGates for 13 years. With over 20 years experience in the insurance industry, 17 of which in Loss Adjusting. He has particular experience in Real Estate and Commercial Major & Complex Loss.
In his spare time Robin is an avid F1 fan and enjoys travel and cooking.
Richard Lawrence

Richard joined QuestGates Environmental Claims Division in 2006, following 15 years investigative experience with two major insurers. Richard has held senior technical roles within our Environmental Division before becoming Head of Environmental in 2022, assuming full responsibility for the delivery of our Environmental service. Richard still maintains a caseload and handles complex and high value EIL, Commercial and household losses both in the UK and globally. He is also responsible for managing a number of key client relationships and driving forward our innovative tech and sustainability agenda within the division.
Paul Rossiter

Paul has over 40 years’ experience in the investigation and management of liability and personal injury claims, including the handling and management of portfolios of personal injury claims to High Court level on behalf of many insurers and self insureds. Paul managed his own claims management business for over 20 years before joining QuestGates in the role of Director, Third Party Services Ireland. Paul is responsible for managing and delivering QuestGates’ highly respected liability services in Ireland.

Paul has worked in the insurance industry for 20 years, joining QuestGates in 2013. He has worked in claims handling roles in Construction and Property and as a team manager before becoming a Client Relationship Manager. He looks after insurer and corporate clients acting as a point of escalation, making regular visits to client offices and working closely with them to ensure QuestGates deliver the level of service that we have promised.
Paul is currently President of the Bolton Chartered Insurance Institute and in his spare time enjoys crossfit, boxing and playing football.
Nicola Sutton

Nicola has been working within claims for 20 years, initially starting within the subsidence arena, subsequently working with commercial clients, before specialising in high net worth, ultra high net work and complex and large domestic loss for the last ten years.
Nicola holds a degree in Business and System Science and is a qualified ACILA Adjuster. Since joining QuestGates eight years ago Nicola has overseen the growth of the Private Clients Services to provide a market leading team of dedicated Adjusters and Concierge staff serving the UK and Ireland. Outside of work she enjoys taking her dog on long walks, going to the gym and reading.
Michael Ledgerton

Michael started his career in claims at Legal & General Insurance in 1989, moving into loss adjusting two years later. Michael has held various senior roles during his career and, since joining QuestGates in 2016 he has headed up the Major & Complex Loss team, growing it from a handful of “hybrid” adjusters to the current team of nearly 20 individuals comprising adjusters, surveyors, accountants and internal staff.
Michael serves on the committee of the CILA Property Special Interest Group and is also an examiner for CILA. Outside of work he enjoys cycling, watching sport and spending time with his family.
Melanie Rochelle-Bache

Melanie first joined QuestGates in 2007. Since joining QuestGates Melanie has built up her experience and technical knowledge whilst working through several job roles and working her way up to her current position of Assistant Manager – CCS. Melanie works along-side the Head of CCS and provides support on day-to-day operational matters and looking after the needs of our Birmingham claims team and their clients, whilst continuing to manage a small portfolio of her own claims. In 2021 Melanie was named in the Insurance Business UK’s tops 50 Rising Stars. Outside of work Melanie is a football fan and enjoys time in the gym.

Matt has over 30 years customer service experience working within the Insurance Industry, holding several senior management positions within the claims management and liability adjusting sector. Matt specialises in account management and business development and has responsibility for many key corporate accounts within QuestGates. Outside of work he is a keen golfer and enjoys fine dining and collecting wine.
Marie Dugdale
Operations Manager – TPPD
Marie joined QuestGates in August 2021 following the acquisition of All-Uk Adjusting Ltd. She has over 15 years’ experience in health and safety, gained within the construction and housing sector, before specialising in business risk and insurance.
Marie’s adjusting career began in 2013 with All-Uk, where she applied her combined knowledge to third-party property damage claims. Since then, Marie has developed particular expertise in the more specialist GIT/Removal and Storage claims arena.
As Operations Manager for QuestGates TPPD team, Marie plays a key role in developing our range of services, with a focus on Client and Customer service, whilst also handling a small portfolio of claims for damage arising from a variety of causes, including major and complex loss.
Lucy Collett

Lucy has 18 years’ experience in the loss adjusting industry and specialises in learning and development, customer experience management and business development. Lucy leads the relationship management team within our Property division and manages relationships with a number of our key insurer, MGA and broker clients. She also works closely with our operational teams to drive continuous improvements in the service we deliver to our customers and brokers. Outside of work Lucy enjoys singing as part of a choir, paddleboarding and hiking with her family.
Kevin Leake

Kevin is a Chartered Loss Adjuster and has acquired over 30 years of adjusting experience having dealt with a wide range of Complex Domestic, High Net Worth and Commercial claims including Business Interruption. Most recently he was heavily involved in the management and settlement of a high volume of Covid 19 BI claims. Kevin joined QuestGates in 2015 following a prolonged career as a Regional Manager. He has a wealth of management and claims expertise as well as proven experience of managing several UK and overseas events. Outside of work, Kevin is a keen supporter of Rugby League and has been involved in the coaching of several local teams.
Joanne Birchall
Head of Motor Operations – Motor Investigation

Joanne started her career at AGF back in 1990 and since then she has worked for major Insurers such as Direct Line and esure; she joined QuestGates over 10 years ago spending the majority of the time in Motor, albeit she spent two years in Property building on her overall knowledge. As well as her role in Motor, which most recently has involved a lot of work around the OiC implementation, she has a real interest in staff welfare arranging and overseeing the Mental Health First Aiders and additional Mental Health training for Line Managers.
Out of work she enjoys going to the gym and walking her French Bulldog, Floyd.
Ian Jones
TPA Claims Manager – Property Claims

Ian started his career with AGF Insurance 30 years ago and joined QuestGates in 2014 following his former role as a Team Leader for a third party Motor Claims specialist. Based in Bolton, Ian successfully manages a growing TPA team across five business sites and is directly responsible for establishing and maintaining effective key broker and insurer relationships. Ian has in depth, technical industry knowledge and draws on his commercial and domestic property experience allowing him to competently and transparently assist with the most challenging of queries. Outside of work he enjoys all things motorsport from spectating on TV and track side to riding and maintaining his own motorbike. Ian also enjoys the gym, golf and adventures with his family of four.
Andrew Pinnion
Director – Contingency
Andrew was a founding member of Hyperion, working with our entertainment and contingency accounts. He is experienced in handling production losses for film, television and music video together with contingency and non-appearance claims.
Andrew has developed a specific expertise in lotteries (traditional and secondary), prize indemnity including television and radio game/quiz shows and competitions, adjudication, contract bonus and over redemption. He has attended security seminars run by the World Lottery Association and European Lotteries Association.
Andrew Russell

Andrew graduated from Imperial College over 45 years ago and is a Fellow of The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) and a Fellow of The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). He has worked around the world for large consulting engineering practices and has acted as Project Director on a number of multi-million pound residential, health and industrial developments.
Andrew established Structural Surveys Ltd in 2016 and has grown the company into a market leading, national company offering structural survey and structural design services, using unique, digital technology. Structural Surveys Ltd was acquired by QuestGates in 2022 and Andrew continues to lead the company as a Director.
Andrew is committee member for the IStructE Lancashire and Cheshire Branch and a reviewer for the professional interviews. He is also a mentor for the ICE.
Outside of work he is a marathon runner and hill walker.
Alistair Steward

A Director and member of the Executive Board of QuestGates, Alistair has over 30 years loss adjusting experience.
Alistair has responsibility for all aspects of business development, from securing new business to ensuring we manage existing client relationships pro-actively. He heads up our tender response team, has responsibility for our Valuation service and leads our strategy for new service development, along with managing relationships with some of our largest clients.
Alistair is a member of the BIBA Claims Working Group, a Past President and Life Vice President of the Nottingham Insurance Institute and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Insurers.
In his spare time, Alistair is a Norwich City Football Club season ticket holder and member of their supporter’s trust, a lover of live music and good wine, a former scuba diver and a depressingly poor golfer!
Alex Whitaker

Alex joined Hyperion in 2012 following his previous position as an event manager for an independent event agency, co-ordinating music festivals and sporting events, followed by a period at the Financial Times in their Corporate Events Department, organising experiences on behalf of corporate sponsors.
Alex is now principally involved in handling claims within the non-appearance, contingency and music video markets.

Anna started her career within claims at General Accident Insurance over 35 years ago moving to R K Harrison Insurance Brokers to set up and subsequently run their UK Retail Claims Division. Following their buy out by Howden, she because their Executive Director of UK Retail Claims, running nine separate claims Divisions, until leaving to semi-retirement in 2021. Feeling she needed to be more fulfilled, she joined QuestGates in 2022 to become the Operations Director for our Specialist Services Division with responsibility for Hyperion, Agriculture and Environmental. Outside of work she designs gardens and is an ardent beekeeper.
Chris Edwards
Motor Development Director

Chris started his career in claims over 33 years ago and has worked for the likes of AA Insurance, Brownsword, Legal & General and The Connexus Group. Chris holds Cert CII and ACFTech qualifications and joined QuestGates at the start of 2023 in the capacity of Motor Development Director. With his experience not only in an operational claims’ role, but including business operations management, account management and business development, he will help the business grow and expand the Motor TPA Division. Outside of work, Chris is a keen runner, loves football, enjoys walking with his dogs and generally just being active
Chris Hall
Chief Executive Officer

Chris started his Loss Adjusting career in Edinburgh in 1979. He transferred to London in 1986 and held numerous management positions before being appointed one of the companies youngest ever Directors on transferring to the West Midlands in 1993.
Chris led teams that developed the first managed contractor network (McPlan) and total outsourcing by an insurer (AGF). Following the acquisition of McLarens by Capita PLC in 2001 Chris was appointed an executive Director of Capita Insurance services. In 2003 he founded QuestGates which in 2018 became the UK and Ireland partner in the vrs global adjusting operation of which he is now a Director.
Chris is a parish councillor, has been president of the Birmingham Insurance institute twice and served two terms on the CII’s national forum. His personal passions are Malt Whisky, Liverpool FC, his family (including Mitzy the cat) and getting away on his narrowboat.
Gary Stoops
Head of Property Adjusting – Ireland

Gary has been involved in claims and adjusting for over 40 years. He joined QuestGates in 2018 from OSG Outsource Services Group / Sedgwick where he was the manager of their Northern Ireland operation. In addition to managing major loss claims and liaising with key insurer and broker clients, Gary also has overall operational responsibility for our Property Team throughout Ireland.
Gary Woodhall
Divisional Director
Having joined the industry in 1989, working for a major insurer, Gary entered the investigative arena in 1993. With a career focused on motor claims, he initially worked as a Motor Insurance Investigator / Claims Inspector before joining QuestGates from a position in Technical Management in 2004. He now oversees the Motor Division, with focus on client relations and product development, whilst retaining the senior technical role for motor claims investigation, up to and including catastrophic losses.
Gary is an ardent Liverpool FC fan!
Frank McGaffney
Associate Director – Head of Agriculture and Forestry

Frank is a Chartered Loss Adjuster who started his insurance career as a claims handler with General Accident Insurance in 1989. Frank became a Loss Adjuster with an international adjusting company in 1992. Working mainly in provincial offices Frank gained experience in agricultural, country estates and rural enterprise claims and Frank specialised in this area in 2008. Frank has extensive experience in handling claims involving castles, principal estate houses, listed buildings, farm buildings, sawmills, machinery, produce and deadstock, dairy, arable, poultry and egg production, pigs, beef cattle, sheep, renewable energy, agricultural revenue and farm motor. In addition, Frank has handled claims for environmental liability, agricultural public and products liability and High Net Worth. Aquaculture claims for fish stock loss due to disease have also featured in Frank’s portfolio of work. Over the past 25 years, Frank has developed a notable niche specialism in Forestry and Growing Timber and is considered a market leader in this field. In addition to handling multi million sterling and euro losses, Frank assists Underwriters with policy wording construction. Frank joined QuestGates in 2018 and heads up our agriculture and forestry team.
Outside of work Frank is a keen runner and enjoys cricket, hillwalking and ornithology.
Emma Robinson
Broker Service Delivery Manager
Emma started her career in insurance at Commercial General Union 20 years ago. She then spent 16 years at AXA Insurance in their Commercial Claims department, starting out as a trainee claims handler, then a senior claims handler and 2 years as a Team Manager. Emma joined QuestGates in 2019 to provide support to our broker clients, managing day to day broker enquiries, ensuring that QuestGates employees adhere to our Broker Charter and that our service meets broker requirements. Emma also supports the development of our broker relationships, working autonomously with Client Relationship and Operations teams to improve service and identify any process improvements.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and travelling.
Dave Clare
Divisional Director – Head of Surveying Services

Dave has strategic lead for all surveying, valuation, construction and engineering related activities with QuestGates, being actively involved in both the organic and acquisitional growth of these services for in excess of 10 years. He works closely with the QuestGates Board of Directors and Andrew Russell, Managing Director of Structural Surveys and Design, a QuestGates group company.
He has approaching 25 years experience in insurance sectors and his core discipline is the field of Subsidence and is a Charted Building Engineer and Chartered Loss Adjuster, with significant professional experience in Subsidence claims handling, more latterly in the resolution of dispute and complex claims.
David Potts
UK & Real Estate Development Manager
With over 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, David joined in 2019 following QuestGates joining the vrs network to develop our International opportunities, specifically within the European Real Estate sector. Prior to QuestGates, David managed the European Real Estate division at Crawford UK.
David is responsible for all International claims’ management & overall performance of the division for both incoming & outgoing claims across the globe, additionally, he is also responsible for client relationship management for both composite and London Market along with management information delivery.
Dan Welsford
Operations Manager (Liability)
Dan joined QuestGates in 2016 following completion of his Law degree.
Starting initially as a Claims Handler within our TPPD division, Dan has worked his way through a variety of roles and was made Operations Manager (TPPD) in 2018, reflecting his contribution & expertise in this specialist area. Since then, Dan has gained further promotion within the Liability division where, as Operations Manager (Liability) he now has responsibility for the daily operations of the Liability adjusting team with primary responsibility for service delivery, finances, client relationships and employee welfare.
Outside of work, Dan is an avid sportsman and enjoys the outdoors. In 2019, he completed the Nevis Midnight challenge raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society
Colin Ganson
Director

After completing a Degree in Surveying Colin started his Loss Adjusting Career at Toplis and Harding in 1991. Upon moving to Cunningham Lindsey in 1996 Colin was appointed to the position of Scotland Commercial Claims Manager and during the next 2 years qualified as a Chartered Insurer (ACII) and Chartered Loss Adjuster (FCILA). During his time at Cunningham Lindsey Colin handled Hurricane claims on a number of occasions in various Countries in the Caribbean and the US. Colin left Cunningham Lindsey in 2014 where he ultimately occupied the position of Director and joined QuestGates where is now a Director with specific responsibility for First Party Services. Outside of work Colin enjoys golf and walking in the Lake District.
Charlotte Scriven
Business Development Administrator
Charlotte joined QuestGates in April 2019 providing administrative support across the business. Her main responsibilities include being involved in the quotation process for our valuation service, putting together proposal documents, tenders and presentations and organising external and internal events.
Before joining QuestGates, she has extensive background in administrative roles as well as working on various corporate events.
In her spare time, she enjoys going to the theatre, loves travelling and going to the gym.
Ashley Clancy

Ashley has over 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry initially with a major Insurer and predominantly with national loss adjusting firms covering the whole of Scotland. She has a depth of experience in handling a variety of losses across residential and commercial risks and assists with responding to natural disasters, such as Flood and Storm throughout the UK. Ashley’s interests outside work including running, walking and yoga.
Ross Macpherson
Director – Technical and Compliance

Ross started his career in claims at General Accident in the mid 1980’s. He moved into adjusting in 1989 and joined QuestGates in 2003. A chartered loss adjuster, Ross is a Full and Executive Board Director and his primary responsibilities across the business are running the Compliance Teams and looking after a number of our important client relationships, particularly those in the Lloyds and London Markets. Ross is also Chair of the CILA Claims Management Special Interest Group, as well as being part of Council and is the only loss adjuster sitting on BIBA’s Property Committee.
Outside of work Ross enjoys tennis, he is a Team Captain at his local club, football, golf and walks with his pet dog, Mabel.
Greg Laker

A Director and member of the Executive Board of QuestGates, Greg has over 35 years insurance claims experience, with most of these having been spent in the loss adjusting sector. Prior to joining QuestGates in 2003, Greg held a number of senior operational, product development and client relationship roles. Greg has responsibility for all aspects of Operations and has particular experience in developing bespoke solutions for clients and providing high quality service delivery with a focus on digital innovation. Outside of work he is a keen Golfer and skier.

Stephen Maer

Joined QG March 2016. Overall responsibility for day-to-day running of the Group finance function, ensuring compliance with all financial and statutory regulations. Formulation and management of operational budgets, assisting management in achievement of financial objectives.
Qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2020, over 20 years post-qualification experience in a range of industries. Enjoys running, cycling and live music.
Glen Donaldson
Director, Specialist Services

Glen has over 20 years claims and adjusting experience, having started his career at Zurich, before becoming Director of Ireland and Head of UK Field Force at a global adjusting practice where he specialised in the investigation and management of complex major losses on EL, PL, products and constructions liability claims.
Glen joined QuestGates in January 2017 and subsequently became a Board Director in July 2022 where he has responsibility for our Specialist Services Division including our Cyber, Environmental, Agriculture, Entertainment, Sport and Ireland teams together with managing a number of insurer, broker and client relationships. In his spare time, Glen enjoys spending time with his young family, supporting Ulster/Ireland rugby and hiking in the Mourne Mountains.
