QuestGates group today announces that it has further strengthened its position in the structural engineering sector with the acquisition of Martin Evans Associates Ltd (MEA) and BTA Structural Design Ltd (BTA). Both acquisitions complement the groups previous acquisitions of Structural Surveys Ltd and Ramsay McMichael Consulting Ltd.
Based in Sheffield, Martin Evans Associates was established in 2001 to help homeowners, architects, builders and developers with a full range of structural engineering consultancy services including Structural Design, Calculations and Structural Inspections.
Established in 2001 and based in Gloucestershire, BTA Structural Design work with architects and other professionals to create buildings with elegant, robust and durable structures, using the best materials whether traditional or modern, with sustainability at the heart of their projects.
The two businesses will become a subsidiary of QuestGates-owned Structural Surveys Ltd. Both James Birdwood of BTA and Martin Evans of MEA will remain within the company, and report to Andrew Russell, Managing Director of Structural Surveys Ltd.
Chris Hall, Managing Director of QuestGates said, “We are delighted to welcome both BTA Structural Design and Martin Evans Associates to the ever-expanding building consultancy arm of QuestGates. Both businesses are a perfect fit into our already high-quality structural engineering division, bringing additional talent and expertise to an area in which we are seeing continually increasing demand.”
James Birdwood, Founder of BTA said, “After more than two decades since the formation of BTA, the present moment marks the right time for us to join a larger independent group. QuestGates is an attractive home and this move opens up significant opportunities for our team and enables us to expand the services offered to clients, all while maintaining our commitment to delivering a high-quality service.”
Martin Evans, Founder of Martin Evans Associates said, “This deal empowers us to broaden our offering, tapping in to additional industry expertise and enhanced services within the QuestGates group. I am excited for the next chapter and looking forward to being part of the QuestGates family.”
These latest acquisitions are not the first of 2024 for QuestGates, having acquired Kent-based motor specialist CMA in January.
